Goat milk
is one of the oldest and best known skin softeners.
Goat milk is one of the oldest and best known skin softeners. It is called 'Nature's Liposomes' by cosmetic chemists as it contains naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy acids, proteins, minerals and high levels of Vitamins A, C, B1, B12 and E to help slow the effects of aging, and zinc which helps reconstruct collagen, encouraging moisture retention and elasticity. It also contains caprylic acid which helps reduce the PH of the skin and maintain a slightly acid mantle that healthy skin generates to prevent bacterial invasion. Our soaps are mild, gentle and very creamy on the skin.

We are a cottage industry nestled in the Strzelecki Ranges in Gippsland Victoria, Australia and live on a small property with magnificent views overlooking some of Australia's richest dairy country.
On our farm we
raised goats for many years, and consequently have had excess goat milk, so four years ago I ventured on the 'soap making journey'. Now our gorgeous range of soaps and toiletries use goat milk as the primary ingredient! |

I have a passion for all things country and my goats are an important part of my life along with family and friends. In our area I'm affectionately know as 'the goat lady on the hill'!
My husband, Ian's love is the property and he tenderly cares for all the plants and animals on
it.
I love being a part of this cottage industry with its opportunity to be innovative, and create things of beauty. Meeting new people and hearing of their delight with my products is part of the rewarding
experience.
Due to family circumstances I am no longer milking my own goats but have sourced fresh and creamy goat milk from a local woman in Gippsland who breeds and milks her own
goats.I

ANNOUNCEMENT: PALM OIL FREE SOAP
Having learned of the threat to native Orang-utans and the welfare of village women by planned decimation of natural vegetation and planting of palm oil plantations I am now phasing out the use of palm oil in my soaps. Multi-national cosmetic and bio-diesel companies are employed in destroying the rainforest jungle to make way for palm plantations. The palm fruit is in great demand by these companies to the detriment of the orang-utans whose habitat they are destroying and the women who now have to walk greater distances for firewood and to graze their animals. |
No longer using palm oil is my small contribution to these
people. For some time now I have been trialling new recipes and have come up with a few that I am now happy with and proud to use.
The main oil I am now using is coconut oil as it is high in antioxidants which help protect and guard the skin against premature aging. It is deeply moisturising and contributes to a hard and bubbly bar of soap. Other oils include rice bran oil which is high in several fatty acids and is ideal for dry, flaky, sensitive and mature skin and olive oil which is rich in Vitamin E. as well as a natural protector of the skin.
None of our products are tested on animals but are cheerfully tested by friends and family!
Come again!
Here at 'Forget-Me-Not Hill', we seek
to live in harmony as far as possible with the creatures on our
property i.e. the 42 different varieties of birds that come and go
making it their home and feeding place, the wombats, echidnas,
Gippsland worms, the odd wallaby and deer and our farm and
domestic animals.

We look for opportunities to make
environmentally sound decisions re: care-taking the land and
management of our limited water resources.
Because our soap is free from
phosphates, it means that our shower water can be safely used on
our veggie, ornamental and native garden and as part of a grey
water system.

We use the finest vegetable oils, unrefined nut butters, botanicals and
fragrance and essential oils. Our soaps have no preservatives,
whiteners, hardeners and surfactants. Unlike commercial soaps the glycerine remains in the soap.
Each soap is cut individually or poured into moulds to cure so there will
always be slight differences in shape and size, although the
minimum weight is 100grams.
See individual soap ingredients list.

OUR HAND CREAMS & LOTIONS |
Our hand creams and lotions are made using
the finest quality ingredients
that melt in and do not remain greasy on the skin. After much time and
testing we have found the right amount of preservative that we can use
as a minimum, enabling these products to be as natural as possible.
Ethically we could not sell goat milk hand creams and lotions without a
preservative.
